EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Our training programme is available to ANY medical professional working at equestrian events or with an interest in getting involved in them. The programme is not limited to MEA Members and we would encourage the distribution of these details to any medical professionals (NOT only doctors) who may find the programme of interest. The sessions are currently FOC to MEA members.

We run moulage sessions throughout the year at locations across the country.

​The aim of the sessions are to:

•  Enable medical personnel to practice their individual trauma skills
•  Look at trauma in the context of the equestrian environment
•  Explore team dynamics
•  Management of the whole scenario
•  Discussion on enabling team practice at events attended by personnel

There is a minimum of 5 scenarios covering most eventualities in which attendees participate, lead and observe. We cover head, torso and limb injuries and discuss issues around concussion.

• Saturday 21st November (morning) @ Stratford Racecourse, CV37 9SE (the day after the 2026 MEA Conference)
  • Immediately after the moulage session, Lizzie Dyer, from Focus Training, is providing a Basic Life Support update for those not routinely exposed to training within their own workplaces.
